Acorn Care has been developed to meet the needs of the changing face of dementia.
We recognise that many types of dementias that have neurological impairment are not as progressive or irreversible as typical Alzheimer’s disease.  Acorn’s vision is to provide quality interventions within a recovery programme for those with complex, challenging needs outside of the typical spectrum of Alzheimer’s.

Acorn Care is based in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham and offers highly specialist 24/7 nursing for adults aged 18 and upwards with complex working age dementia needs. We offer a unique service and accept referrals nationwide

A two-storey extension was completed to the side of the main building in 1992 in a similar style in keeping to the original appearance and an additional single storey extension was completed in 1993. Orrell Grange is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for 36 beds for older persons.

We fully appreciate that the prospect of needing to consider a move into a Care Home for either yourself or a member of your family, to whom you may represent, is a huge decision. Indeed, we accept that this may be one of the most difficult and complex processes you may ever need to encounter. The Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations (2009) required under part 4(11) that each Care Home to compile a written guide to the Care Home which is referred to in the Regulations as “The Statement of Purpose”. In additional, it would seem only right to inform Users and their prospective relatives or representatives about the home, its aims and its philosophy of care.  We also combined our Statement of Purpose with this Guide as a whole package of information.
